1986 has been an interesting season, as well as it being the 50th, with two of the Trophies not being decided until the last race of the season. Unfortunately it was also very sad in that we lost one of our founder members, Joe Picton, who died on 28th August. Joe was President of the Club for many years, and also our first Secretary. His funeral was attended by many members and friends of the Club. He will be sadly missed.
Club membership has remained fairly steady at approximately 55.
Two Easter trips were taken, one group going to South Wales, the other deciding to visit East Anglia.
The Majorca "Training Tour” was thoroughly enjoyed by nine members of the Club, and it seems likely that even more members will be going next year. The Club’s 50th season saw four Ladies and only three Men completing the required B.A.R. distances. This was due almost entirely to the inclement weather during the 12 hour event.
The Annual Dinner and Dance is again being held at the Stoneleigh Inn, on 28th February next.
I look forward to seeing most or you at the 50th "Do", numbers for which have already passed the 100 mark.
All the Best for the 1987 season.
